Taking the form of a lamp, the toadstool becomes a metaphor for illumination and transmission, glowing with unseen currents of energy and exchange. Echoing the hidden intelligence of mycelial networks and plant communication both above and below the earth, this work shows the quiet systems of connection between the natural world, human-made systems and unseen spiritual realms beyond ordinary perception.

Nature has been a constant source of connection and inspiration throughout her life, shaping the way she sees and understands the world. Through detailed drawing and photography, Sally likes to explore what’s observed and what lies beyond the immediately visible—hidden patterns and the subtle traces of life that often go unnoticed.
Alongside her art practice, Sally has worked as a spiritual carer, supporting people through times of change, loss, and reflection. This experience has deepened her awareness of the ethereal dimensions of life and death while also deepening her curiosity about mysteries in nature. Both continue to inform Sally’s creative work where she’s drawn to the spaces where nature, humanity and the spiritual world meet – where mystery and the sacred come alive.
