About the event
Since 2021 Mycommunity Applied Mycology has been running a seven week online mycology course called Myco101. The course aims to give students a grounding in the basics of mycology including identification, fungal biology and fungal ecology. This workshop is an introduction to mycology based on the first couple of classes of the Myco101 course. If people are interested in taking the course this workshop will give a good idea what to expect. Otherwise, the workshop is a great beginners introduction to fungi and their ecology.
Ema Corro is a mycologist who specialises in fungal ecology and restoration. She also has experience in mushroom cultivation, myco-materials and DNA sequencing. She is President of Mycommunity Applied Mycology which is a citizen science organisation that educates the public around fungi and provides training and resources to citizen mycologists. She also works with various community organisations on citizen-science projects involving fungal ecology and restoration.…
