This workshop is for anyone interested in learning how to grow edible fungi at home. Annette Kennewell is hosting this workshop at her small farm, Tilba Mushrooms, where she grows fresh oyster mushrooms for the Tilba Market in autumn and winter. Annette will facilitate this workshop with Fiona Kotvojs and Josh Whitworth, the three co-founders of the Fungi Feastival. This workshop will include:
- demonstration of how to grow oyster mushrooms on sugar cane mulch from grain spawn
- tour of an oyster mushroom fruiting room
- demonstration of how to inoculate a log with shiitake grain spawn
- hands-on experience building an outdoors mushroom garden for red wine cap mushrooms using grain spawn and wood chips
- discussion on how to grow truffles
- fungilicious morning tea and opportunity to network with other fun(gals) and fun(guys)
