Join Michael Priest, President of Fungimap, Australia’s national fungi mapping and conservation organisation, for the launch of the 2026 Fungi Feastival. This evening will combine the movie Fantastic Fungi and Michael will answer all your fungi related questions. Michael will also introduce you to the nationwide citizen science event The Great Aussie Fungi Hunt, held annually, and this year in July.
Fantastic Fungi is a documentary that takes viewers on a time-lapse journey through the magical and mysterious world of fungi. The film, directed by Louie Schwartzberg, combines stunning time-lapse cinematography, CGI, and interviews to explore the biology, environmental roles, and various uses of fungi. It features interviews with notable figures like Paul Stamets and Michael Pollan, and is narrated by Brie Larson.
